Our Mission

Alteon Health partners with hospitals to deliver the highest quality patient care. We empower our physicians and staff to employ innovative and adaptable care-delivery models. We foster the growth of our team members through mentorship, education and professional development.

Our Vision

Alteon Health will advance healthcare through patient-focused care, physician-led innovation, data-driven practices, and best-in-class healthcare partnerships.

Our Core Values

Collaboration

We are a community of professionals who play different roles in achieving common goals. We learn from one another, encourage open dialogue, and use teamwork to enhance the experience of our patients, clinicians, support staff, and hospitals.

Compassion

It’s at the heart of healthcare and Alteon. Our clinicians and staff are driven by empathy and an innate desire to help others live the healthiest life possible.

Excellence

We relentlessly pursue excellence by focusing on continual improvement in quality outcomes, safety, patient engagement, employee recruitment and retention, business processes, and hospital operations. We believe exceeding the highest industry standards of care and operations will ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Integrity

We embrace accountability, honesty, transparency, and the responsibility we have to do what is right for our people, patients, and stakeholders.

Innovation

We believe in taking the next step to advance every aspect of healthcare. We encourage and facilitate continuing education, exploring emerging technologies, and employing data-driven processes to improve efficiencies. We encourage each other to challenge the status quo if it leads to better outcomes for patients and partners.

Loyalty

People are at the center of everything we do. We view our patients, colleagues, and partners as family. We value our hospital partnerships and are invested in the communities we serve. We believe in providing resources, mentorship, and support to empower those dedicated to our mission to help them realize their career aspirations

Our Story

Today we deliver better outcomes by putting people at the center.

At Alteon Health, we’re advancing positive outcomes for hospitals, physicians, and patients—each and every day.

In 2017, we saw an opportunity to bring together the best in our industry to create an unrivaled network of partners and drive better outcomes for the people we serve.

To deliver on this opportunity, we brought together two leaders in our industry—Emergency Medicine Associates and Island Medical Management.

EMA, a physician-owned practice, has been a leader in emergency medical services since 1971, serving one million patients annually across Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

IMM, also a physician-owned organization providing services in emergency medicine and hospitalist medicine, has over 20 years of experience in medical management and touches two million patients each year through its 80+ programs.

With common values and complementary strengths, these two organizations are uniquely suited to come together as Alteon Health, a name that signals our commitment to setting a higher standard in healthcare.

For hospitals, this means assembling a staff of the most engaged, loyal, and highly performing physicians in the industry—enhancing their departments and enabling the highest quality service.

For clinicians, this means creating an environment that promotes career development and ongoing clinical improvement. By leveraging leading data, we help physicians and APPs be their best, while the back-office and administrative support of the national organization allows them to concentrate on their patients.

Each day, we’re advancing towards better outcomes with a people-powered approach—and we’ve only just begun.

We began to chart a way to improve outcomes for hospitals and patients, while providing fulfilling careers our clinicians can take pride in.

For hospitals it means providing a staff of the most engaged, loyal, and highly performing clincians in the industry—enhancing their departments and enabling the highest quality performance.

For clinicians it means using data to improve the ecosystem and simplify processes, so they can concentrate on their patients. We co-create a career path that’s focused on their needs.

Physician Led Philosophy

Unlike other groups, Alteon Health is physician owned and physician led at every level of our organization, including the c-suite.

Our Team

Our national team exemplifies our focus on quality, new thinking and patient experience. Every one of our leaders brings both personal passion and deep medical expertise. It’s this hybrid approach that defines our organization and helps us improve patients’ lives.
